Steam Power Plants [all] are Carnot Thermodynamic Cycle machines. What if we don’t use temperature change for the vehicle of extracting energy? The Lurtz Cycle uses pressure that is created by gravity. The physical cycle is completed by converting liquid to gas with almost no temperature change [same as boiling water to steam]. We are not extracting energy from the “high temperature” gas; we are extracting energy from gravity driven pressure and “latent heat”. Latent heat is the heat required to convert a liquid to a gas with no temperature change. This is a NON-Carnot Thermodynamic Cycle.
